DAY 1

On April 6th 1862 the Mississippi army led by General P.G.T. Beauregard and General Albert S. Johnston of 44,699 soldiers attacked the Army of West Tennesee as a stealth attack at 6:00 A.M.  That day Albert S. Johnston was shot during battle and died that day.  General P.G.T. Beauregard took command of the Mississippi Army and ordered his shoulders to fight an offensive battle till' nIghtfall. That night Ulysses S. Grant prepared for the next day of fighting while the Army of Ohio led by Don Carlos Buel arrived as reinforcements with over 15,000 soldiers.

Day 2

On the second day of the battle General Beauregard was not aware he was outnumbered and continued to fight. The Union just pushed him back throughout the day but he did not give up and lead many counterattacks.  After Beauregard lost over 10,000 men he finally retreated South and admitted to defeat.
